WSVN -- In the Design District there's furniture, funky art, great restaurants and finally, the District now has it's own fashion row. Just in time for Art Basel, Northeast 40th Street is bursting with openings of chic new boutiques.

Karen Quinones: "This is definitely going to be the center for fashion."

In true Design District flare, the stores are all cutting edge. Like En Avance, where you'll find all the hottest designs for men and women.

The owner, Karen Quinones, travels the world looking for exclusive clothes, shoes and accessories.

Karen Quinones: "I've traveled this year to New Zealand. I bought some things in Spain. I carry things from Paris, London, Milan."

Todd Corder, loyal shopper: "Her pieces are definitely one of a kind. A lot of it is organic."

An in-house jeweler who specializes in pearls will custom make pieces for you, and there's also a jewelry bar with precious stones.

Karen Quinones: "I decided to do a fine jewelry bar where we serve champagne and cocktails. We carry 18 karat gold jewelry with diamonds, rainbow moonstones.

Also now open, the eclectic boutique Marni, which will be the Italian fashion house's first store in South Florida.

Gianni Castiglioni, Marni: "You can find in our shop a full selection of dresses, tops but also beautiful bags, amazing jewelry, sunglasses."

Fashionistas can scoop up luxurious furs, quirky shoes, and there's even a men's line. But Marni is best known for it's bright and bold patterns on their dresses and tops.

Gianni Castiglioni: "I think your much more attracted to the color, by the prints, by the feeling of the fabrics, which is always lightweight."

For those who want to see and be seen I on the District will help you make an eye-popping statement with your sunglasses.

Oksana Kamensky, I on the District: "We're concentrating more on urban, up and coming designers."

Designers like Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith, Chloe, and for the uber unique, there's Retrospecs.

Oksana: "Retrospecs is the line we carry that are original vintage, restored pieces that are restored from the 20s, 30s, 40s, 60s a lot of them are museum pieces, 18 and 24 karat plated."

You can also pick up handbags and colorful wraps in their boutique area.

And there's a cozy tea and champagne bar to privately try on your eye wear.

So head over to the District and master the art of shopping, even after Basel's long over.

More big names in fashion are slated to open in the District next year.
